Annamay Pierse 200 breaststroke world record holder lowered her meet mark again.  Pierse clocked two minutes 27.18 seconds for the victory, besting her previous mark of 2:29.42 set in 2008. Martha McCabe and Haylee Johnson also had victories of their own.  Full article:  The Vancouver Sun.

Vancouver Pacific Lions Club – 2010 Fundraising GalaMay 8, 2010 at 3:42 pm

Vancouver Pacific Lions Club hosted their annual Fundraising Gala on May 2, 2010 at River Rock Casino Resort. Many other Lions Clubs attended with guests at the successful event entailing a wonderful dinner, a lucky raffle and karaoke fundraising, live band, singing and dancing.  O2 West Personal Fitness & Active Rehab was one of the big raffle donors of the night.

Vancouver Pacific Lions Club’s primary goal is to care for the welfare of seniors, women and children. Throughout the last 17 years, they have collectively raised over $860,000 between the club’s fundraising endeavors and gaming.  Over $800,000 of the proceeds have been donated to many charities since 1991.  In essence, the number exceeds 50 charities within the last 16 years.   Primarily they donate to welfare of seniors, women and children and have established a foundation to invest into a senior housing project.  The Club also values building friendship and teamwork.  Balancing life among career, family, children and volunteering, the Club is also able to extend fellowship internationally to twin with 2 all ladies’ clubs overseas. Support Vancouver College School MayFair.  Today is Vancouver College’s annual fundraiser.  They have a Raffle with the grand prize as a “2010 Volkswagen Golf 5 doors 2.0 TDI” diesel 6 speed DSC automatic.   The money is used to enrich kids education.

O2 West is the proud sponsor of the Senior Female Athlete of the Year category.

Recalling Sport BC’s Athlete of the Year Awards on March 31st, O2 West Personal Fitness & Active Rehab was delighted at the opportunity to congratulate Summer Olympian Annamay Pierse with the Senior Female Athlete of the Year Award.  Annamay is a breast stroke specialist and world record holder.  Her swim club is UBC Dolphins.
